First, thank you for this amazing effort to bring together the world of microcontrollers and the OPC standard.
I use an Arduino Uno and it works very well with the serial connection. However, I want to implement the OPC Server via Ethernet.
I am using the Arduino IDE 1.5.7, included Bridge.h but I cannot get it to work. The error message is the same as for DottBiGio:
“OPCEthernet.ino:1:20: fatal error: OPCNet.h: No such file or directory”
There is no library OPCNet.h, however most of the OPCNet functions are already defined in the OPC.h library or OPC.cpp.
I assumed, that maybe the example “OPCEthernet.ino” was an old version when there were seperate files for OPC.h and OPCNet.h so I tried to include OPC.h instead of OPCNet.h, but still no luck.
(aOPCNet.setup gives 5 parameters, however in the OPC.cpp file there are 0 parameters wanted for the OPCNet Setup function)
Please, can you help me with this problem? I am willing to put in a lot of time and effort to get this ethernet connection to work, if you could point me in the right direction.
Thanks again, regards from Germany

I have decided to dedicate every effort to make YUN Arduino compatible using wireless instead of using Ethernet. That is the reason why Ethernet is not working….sorry about that but I am alone and dont have enough time. Could you use Arduino YUN with OPC or instead do you still prefer have Ethernet support for OPC Server forArduino?
All the best

Sorry for my late reply.
At the moment I am trying to make your existing library work with the traditional Arduino Uno + Ethernet shield setup. However I am running into a lot of problems.
However, I will keep you updated if I make any progress.
My idea is, to simply replace the YunServer and YunClient with the existing EthernetServer and EthernetClient from the Ethernet library.
Do you think this is a promising way to make it work?
On the official Arduino Website it is stated, that the YunServer and YunClient are “modeled after the Ethernet Server class and EthernetClient class”.

That sounds great!! thx!
I started to build ethernet support but switch to YUN. I was building it using UDP because is faster than TCP but I think it could be done the way you are going. Please, let me know about your progress. If you fork and commit in the GitHub repository you could be helped by the community and me 🙂

Released 1.6 version with Ethernet support 🙂
Get it and enjoy!
